President's Award for Undergraduate Research

Download the 2011 Abstracts submitted for the award.

The President's Award for Undergraduate Research is presented at the Winter Meeting of the society. It is jointly supported by the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Anaesthetic Research Society. Its aim is to foster researchers of the future and to provide a forum for dissemination of the results of the work of these promising workers in anaesthesia, critical care and pain. Unlike the original, unpublished and non-presented work required for typical ARS presentations, the President's Award is open to all research in anaesthesia, critical care and pain performed by undergraduates.

All submissions will be presented as posters; there is no requirement for a verbal presentation, although authors will be required to attend their posters during a scheduled session in order to answer questions regarding their work.

Work should be submitted as an abstract to the Honorary Secretary according to the guidelines. Accepted submissions will not be published in a journal, but the winning submission (as judged by the Council of the ARS and RCoA representatives) will be granted the President's Award for Undergraduate Research.

How to Apply

All abstracts to be submitted via email to Professor Gary Mills (g.h.mills@sheffield.ac.uk), using the ARS guidelines outlined on the submission of abstracts page. To be submitted by 5pm on the deadline stipulated.
